in 2011, I started an exploration of unknown noises, circuit bending, and making electronic noise boxes
As it started I had no electronics knowledge or expertise
notionally monthly, I intended to complete 12 projects in a year. each project will have:
– a Project about what I build;
– Notes about what I find out in the course of each month;
– Results with recordings, photographs and films underscoring what I do with the new thing I’ve made.
Usually, I take pictures with old cameras (1/2), play bass in a band (3), run a little record label (4), occasionally make films (5), and always obsess about ukuleles.
It’s been many years since I started this. Times have changed and I’ve ported the largely unedited copy from where it used to live in the internet. Since then, I’ve built Serge, Buchla and Hordijk synths far more involved than these early forays into electronics, but it’s great to have this as a reference points to when I was still having to check which was the hot end of a soldering iron…
